Hellenic Society- University of Surrey

The Hellenic Society of the University of Surrey is the largest international society of on campus. Estimations amount Hellenes in the University as more than one thousand.

Founded in the early 90’s it has contributed to University life with notable events and activities. Its activities and aims range from organising social, educational, sport and other recreational events. Furthermore, the Hellenic Society aims in raising awareness of Greek culture and tradition in the multi-cultural environment of the University.

The society’s regular “Greek Night” events are very popular amongst students, attracting many students from different cultural backgrounds. The Society fully participates in all Student Union events such Fresher’s Fare, International Night, Gala Night and others.

The Hellenic Society acts in high collaboration with the Cypriot Society in order to strengthen the organisation of events and enhance the student experience for the society’s members.

The Hellenic society is one of the most vibrant and active society in the student movement of the University. This has been recognised by the Student Union of the University and hence has received many awards for its activities.
